In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Kickin It announced the launch of The Flow State Fund, a micro-grant initiative designed to directly support local Virgin Islands creators and reduce financial stress in bringing culturally significant work to life.
Applications are now open to Virgin Islands-based creatives across all disciplines who are developing or planning projects that preserve and elevate local culture. Selected recipients will receive micro-grants ranging from $500 to $1,000. The grants will be officially distributed live on stage during the Kickin It Creative Retreat on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Long Bay Beach Resort in Tortola, BVI.
The creation of the fund addresses a pressing challenge facing local artists. With the rising cost of living across the territory, creative output can often feel secondary to day-to-day survival. Through The Flow State Fund, Kickin It aims to reinforce that local creative voices matter and that dedicated financial support exists when artists build for the culture.
“At Kickin It, our mission has always focused on providing resources for local creative development, removing barriers to connecting with Virgin Islands culture, and building community across the territory,” said the Kickin It team. “The creative arts offer a vital escape, support mental well-being, and contribute deeply to the spirit of our local community. The Flow State Fund removes financial hurdles so our artists can enter their optimal creative state.”
The micro-grants can be applied toward a wide range of tangible project expenses, including equipment/gear, space rentals, software licenses, digital subscriptions, travel, registration fees, marketing, and licensing.
