St. Johnian, Igdaliah Pickering, also known as “Iggy,” is not only the innovative founder behind IGDALYAH (established in 2020) but also a Lead Designer at the esteemed Black-owned luxury brand Hanifa.
In her role at Hanifa, Igdaliah is responsible for generating new sketches, ideas, concepts, and mood/reference boards, as well as conducting extensive market trend research. Her expertise extends to seamstressing and pattern making, where she drafts patterns and creates prototypes, and technical design, producing flats and tech packs for each garment. Additionally, Igdaliah liaises with vendors and suppliers for material procurement, quality control, and timely deliveries, and manages the Hanifa design team calendar to ensure on-season collection releases.
This extensive experience in the luxury fashion sector further informs her visionary work at IGDALYAH, a brand deeply rooted in her Caribbean heritage and committed to celebrating individuality through unique, ethically made garments.
