Currently, In Flow State

Kickin It is officially turning ten, and the movement is celebrating its milestone anniversary with a creative retreat on October 17 and 18, 2026. Taking place at Long Bay Beach Resort in Tortola, the two day event serves as the cornerstone celebration of a decade dedicated to culture preservation, creative development, and community building.

Coinciding with Heroes and Foreparents Day weekend, the decade-defining event serves as both a milestone celebration and a vital bridge between high-level professional growth, cultural preservation, and holistic rest. A central pillar of the anniversary weekend is the presentation of the third and final edition of the Kickin It Honors, recognizing a world-class cohort of global, regional, and local culture drivers defining excellence across music, media, film, and creative entrepreneurship.

The Final Kickin It Honors Cohort:

  • Global Influence Honoree: DJ Puffy (International DJ & Producer | Barbados)
  • Culture Keeper Honoree: Jessie Woo (Media Personality, Comedian & Singer | Haiti)
  • Creative Catalyst Honorees: DonYé Taylor (Creative Philosopher & Founder, Nuclei | Los Angeles / Maryland) & Rush Cam (Digital Creator and Host of No NDA Podcast | Jamaica)
  • Trailblazer Honoree: Imani Ellis (Founder & CEO, CultureCon | Atlanta / New York)

  • Rising Star Honorees: Rondel Smith (Nature Photographer | Anegada, BVI) & VI Crawl — Nyaila Callwood & Khalarni Rivers (Filmmakers & Performing Artists | Tortola, BVI and St. Thomas,USVI)

Anchored by the theme “Currently in Flow State,” the weekend is intentionally designed to mirror the natural rhythm of the ocean, balancing high-output performance with restorative ease:

  • Saturday, Oct. 17 | Focus Day (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM): An action-packed professional summit featuring mainstage panel conversations, technology presentations, speed networking, interactive pitch sessions, and live micro-grant awards distributed via The Flow State Fund. Individual passes are $70, with discounted duo and group bundles available online.

  • Sunday, Oct. 18 | Flow Day (6:00 AM – 12:00 PM): A completely free, open-access wellness experience open to the public and resort guests. Activated across five coastal zones, The Pause Lawn, The Oasis Lounge, The Zen Den, The Culture & Craft Studio, and The Court & Café, the morning offers a community walk/runs guided movement, sound baths, pickleball, community circles and craft workshops designed for deep restoration.

“Kickin It making ten years is such a meaningful milestone for us, and hosting this retreat is the ultimate way to celebrate the community that built it,” said the founder of Kickin It, Kyra James Douglas. “Over the past decade, we have watched our creative ecosystem grow exponentially. This weekend is about honoring that journey, giving our creators practical tools for the future, and creating space to rest so we can keep building together.”
