In celebration of 70 years of Tortola’s Emancipation Festival, Kickin It is hosting a dinner party August 2024 where attendees will gather to savor delicious local cuisine and raise a glass for the culture. “Toast” is more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of who we are, the path that brought us here and the journey ahead.
The Capsule Project is community-driven archive preservation initiative that aims to protect Virgin Islands cultural heritage for future generations. In May 2024 we’re launching a crowdfunding campaign for our new program, Kickin It University. Our mission is to combat culture dilution by providing accessible, engaging classes that empower individuals to learn, develop new skills, and foster a deeper appreciation for Virgin Islands heritage.
Last year, we sent five Virgin Islanders to the largest conference for creatives of color! This year, we’re aiming even higher, with a goal to triple our impact by sending 15 talented individuals to CultureCon October 2024.
