Kickin It runs on the firm belief that creatives play a crucial role in keeping culture alive.
Culture
Provides the foundation for creativity. It’s the shared traditions, beliefs, and practices that inspire artists, musicians, writers, and other creators. These cultural elements become the building blocks for new ideas and expressions.
Creativity
The engine that keep culture alive by turning elements into new forms. Artists use their creativity to express themselves and their communities through various mediums. This creative expression reinforces cultural identity.
Community
People with a common cultural background connect easily. This strong bond fosters a sense of community.
Events and gatherings (online and offline) provide platforms to showcase and celebrate cultural heritage, providing opportunties to pass it on, keeping it alive for future generations.

OUR STORY
Kickin It was founded in May 2016 by Kyra James as a 30-day video challenge. By the summer, an overwhelming amount of viewers did not want it to end. It was one of the few digital outlets at the time that featured Virgin Islands themed content.
Today, Kickin It has a full team of Virgin Islanders living in both territories, in the U.S. and the U.K. who all have two things in common – a love for their homes and the desire to be the change they want to see.
Financial support for Kickin It goes towards creating original resources, providing homegrown creatives with amplification + support, covering the cost of operations and more.
